Early Life
Gizem Sevim’s story starts in Konya, with her birth on September 29, 1999. Nothing in her childhood suggested acting would become her path, yet the interest grew gradually. Eventually she committed to formal study, joining Basic Acting Studio, where Harika Uygur and Eylem Yıldız guided her training. Today she calls Istanbul home and continues her development with the Icon Talent agency.
Career
Before appearing on television, Sevim trained in theater, a period she often describes as the time when she learned the basics of her craft. Her TV break didn’t come until 2022. That year she appeared in Gülümse Kaderine (Smile at Your Fate), playing Elif — her first chance to meet a nationwide audience. Soon after, she appeared on TRT 1 in Mükemmel Eşleşme, playing the role of Pınar.
The following year brought yet another project. In 2023 she stepped into Safir (Sapphire) as Aleyna, acting opposite Burak Berkay Akgül, a collaboration that earned her more recognition. Not long after, she took on another role in the popular series Yabani (Wild Heart), this time playing police commissioner Elif.
By 2025 she had also appeared as a guest star in TRT1’s hit series Teşkilat (The Agency). After a short run of episodes she left the project, but the role added another highlight to her résumé.
Personal Life
News broke in September 2025 that Gizem Sevim is romantically involved with actor Recep Usta, recognized for his role as Berk in Kardeşlerim. When their relationship started, however, is still unknown. For both actors, this is the first relationship they have not hidden from the press and their fans.
