ATV and OGM Pictures are preparing to launch one of the season’s most anticipated dramas, Abi. The story for Abi was written by a team familiar to Turkish drama fans — Eylem Canpolat, Deniz Gürlek, Melih Özyılmaz and Melek Seven. Each of them has penned some of the country’s most talked-about series in recent years. Behind the camera are directors Yağmur Taylan and Murat Aksu. If all goes according to plan, the show will premiere toward the end of November.

At the center of the plot is Doğan Hancıoğlu (Kenan İmirzalıoğlu), a gifted surgeon who once walked away from the wealth and influence of his powerful family. Years ago he left Istanbul — and everything that came with it — to start over in a quiet town on Turkey’s Aegean coast. There he built a simple life, working at a public hospital and helping patients rather than chasing success.
Time eventually pulls him back. He returns home for his sister’s wedding, unaware that the reunion will stir up a storm of old emotions. Resentment, secrets, and long-hidden betrayals come to light, forcing Doğan to face questions of loyalty, love, and conscience.
Afra Saraçoğlu co-stars as Çağla Öncü, a successful lawyer whose path crosses with Doğan’s just as both are facing the weight of their personal histories. Their meeting sets off a relationship that’s complex, vulnerable, and central to the emotional weight of the series.
