Early Life
Turkish actress Mina Koyuncular was born on January 17, 2001, in Diyarbakır, in southeastern Turkey. She completed her schooling at Arfen College, then spent two years training in acting, diction, and on-camera performance at Istanbul’s Sadri Alışık Cultural Center, one of the city’s well-known programs for young performers. Like many actors starting out in Turkish television, she eventually settled in Istanbul, where most of the country’s networks and production companies are based.
Career
Koyuncular’s first television role came in 2019, when she joined the long-running ATV daily drama Beni Bırakma (Don’t Let Me Go) as Leyla, appearing in 68 episodes before the series ended in 2021. That same year, she moved to another ATV production, İkimizin Sırrı (Our Secret), playing Gonca in a story centered on a mother trying to protect her young daughter.
Her best-known role to date came in 2023, when she was cast as Azra Turhan in Show TV’s 26-episode series Maviye Sürgün, released to international audiences as The Blue Exile, alongside a cast that included Damla Sönmez and Caner Cindoruk. Playing a rebellious, strong-willed young woman, she earned coverage from entertainment outlets for a natural, understated acting style, and the role marked a turning point in her career. In 2024, she took on a different kind of character, Janset, an IT specialist caught up in a mafia-related storyline, in the NOW TV series Kötü Kan (Bad Blood), which ended after six episodes.
