Early Life
Alperen Duymaz was born on November 3, 1992, in Ankara, Turkey. He’s the youngest of four children — his father worked as a teacher, and he grew up alongside three older sisters. Music caught his interest early on, and by his teenage years he was also modeling and picking up small parts in TV commercials.
Acting wasn’t the original plan. Duymaz has mentioned in interviews that he once thought about becoming a pilot, until a series of theater workshops pointed him in a different direction. He went on to study in the theater department at Hacettepe University’s Ankara State Conservatory.
Career
Duymaz made his television debut in 2015 with a supporting role as Cesur in Tatlı Küçük Yalancılar, the Turkish adaptation of Pretty Little Liars. He’s called it the part that got him noticed, saying that without it, he might have gone unnoticed by serious directors for a lot longer. A lead role followed soon after in Acı Aşk (Bitter Love), playing Ali Köklükaya. He then took the title role of Ateş Ergüven in the youth drama Bodrum Masalı (Bodrum Tale), which ran from 2016 to 2017.
In 2018, Duymaz moved into film with the lead role of Kutay in the historical drama Direniş: Karatay. That same year, he joined the crime series Çukur (The Pit) in a supporting part, then took the male lead in Çarpışma (Crash) as Kerem Korkmaz. He followed that with the lead role of Ayaz in Zemheri (2020). A year later, he played Akgün Gökalp Taşkın in Son Yaz — released internationally as Last Summer — one of the roles he remains best known for.
More recently, Duymaz starred in the digital series Erkek Severse (When a Man Loves, 2022) and the FOX drama EGO (2023), opposite Melisa Aslı Pamuk. From 2024 to 2025, he played Civan in Leyla: Hayat Aşk Adalet — known internationally as Leyla: Life, Love, Justice — on the NOW platform. His current project is Doğanın Kanunu (The Law of Nature), a Star TV series in which he plays the lead role of Yaman opposite Özge Yağız as Doğa. The show, which also streams on Amazon Prime Video internationally, premiered on June 10, 2026, and new episodes are still airing.
Personal Life
Duymaz married Kübra Kelkit, a teacher he’d known since childhood in Ankara, in a private ceremony in January 2020. According to Turkish entertainment press, the couple moved quickly in part so Kelkit could transfer to a teaching job in Istanbul, where Duymaz was based for work. She has continued teaching there since.
In 2022, Turkish tabloids reported that the marriage was struggling, pointing to the couple skipping a public event together as a sign of trouble. Duymaz didn’t address the rumors directly, but soon after posted a photo of his wife on Instagram — a move fans read as his response. The couple welcomed a son, Gün, in October 2024, though Duymaz didn’t share photos of him publicly until mid-2025.
