Early Life
Özge Yağız is a Turkish actress born on September 26, 1997, in Istanbul, in Istanbul, where she grew up as the youngest child in a family with roots in Sivas. She studied at Başkent University’s Communication Sciences Academy and, alongside her coursework, trained and qualified as a dietitian, a profession she practiced briefly before acting took over. By her own account, her start in the industry came about somewhat by chance, after a personal connection introduced her to talent manager Hasan Güngör.
Career
Yağız made her television debut in 2018 with a small supporting role as Zeliha in the long-running Star TV series Adını Sen Koy. The role that turned her into one of Turkey’s most closely watched young actresses came the following year, when she was cast as the lead, Reyhan Tarhun, in Yemin (The Promise), a daily drama for Kanal 7 about a young woman from the countryside who marries into a wealthy Istanbul family to honor a promise made to her dying guardian. Yağız stayed with Yemin through its first two seasons before she moved steadily into prime-time drama.
From there, she moved steadily into prime-time drama. In 2020, she played Serra Yıldırım in Sol Yanım (My Better Half) on Star TV, and in 2021 she took the role of Havva Aladağ in the comedy-drama İçimizden Biri (One of Us) on Show TV. In 2022, she led the family drama Baba (Father) as Büşra Saruhanlı across two seasons, and lent her voice to the character Mia in the animated film Yunus Çocuk (Dolphin Boy). That same year, she also made a guest appearance as Seher in Çekiç ve Gül: Bir Behzat Ç. Hikayesi (Hammer and Rose: A Behzat Ç. Story), a continuation of the long-running Behzat Ç. crime franchise that streamed on BluTV.
Her highest-profile role to date arrived with Safir (Sapphire), which premiered on ATV in September 2023. In the series, she played Feraye Yılmaz, a girl caught between two brothers from a wealthy Cappadocian family. The series went on to represent Turkey in the Best Telenovela category at the 2024 International Emmy Awards. Yağız capped off 2023 by winning the Rising Star award at the Golden Butterfly Awards and being named Favorite TV Actress at Festiculture, a Turkish culture festival held in Lyon, France. She followed Safir with a lead role in the 2024 film Beyaz Eşya (White Goods), playing a character named Zeynep.
In 2025, Yağız returned to television as Güneş Aydınay opposite Halit Özgür Sarı in the ATV drama Gözleri Karadeniz (Black Sea Eyes), which ran for sixteen episodes before ending that December. Her most recent project, Doğanın Kanunu (The Law of Nature), premiered on Star TV in June 2026. She plays Doğa, whose career keeps falling apart and who is sent by her father to spend time on an organic farm — where she comes face to face with Yaman, played by Alperen Duymaz, a man whose pride she wounded years earlier during a job interview that went badly, and who has since rebuilt his life running the farm. Yağız also has a leading role in the upcoming film Başka Türlü Aşk, playing a character named Dilek. Beyond acting, she works as a print and campaign model for several Turkish brands and remains a regular presence at Turkish entertainment and awards events.
Personal Life
Off screen, Yağız puts her dietetics background to use in her own routine, staying active with regular workouts and Pilates. She was previously engaged to actor Gökberk Demirci, whom she met on the set of Yemin, though the relationship ultimately ended in 2022. She was later in a relationship with her Safir co-star, Burak Berkay Akgül, from late 2023 until their split in November 2025. As of this writing, Yağız is reported to be single and has kept her personal life largely out of the spotlight.
